i thought i would share my vintage finds so far, altho there arnt really many places around queenstown to find many treasures, i have managed to get to a few garage sales. i found this amazing old paint by numbers ship painting in a charity shop in coromandel town ages ago and was going to ship it home, but now im glad i didnt as my room needs some brightening up. and i got the small case at a garage sale, its doing a great job of holding all my bits and bobs

ok, so its been quite a while since my last update, lots of stuff was all going on at once and my poor wee blog got a bit left behind, but now im back! all the way from New Zealand, im here for a year, going to be snowboarding, road tripping and checking out all things NZ, so as a starter i thought i would post some pics from the cool shops i have encountered so far, lots of vintage retro shops

this is a shop called caravan in napier, napier is the art deco capital of the world apparently, its very cute. read all about caravan

this place was very cool, its called house of aroha they had some very cool artwork and design and print all there own t-shirts in the shop

i found this awesome place on my drive between cheviot and christchurch, when i seen a sign for junk and funk it just had to be checked out, a shed just off the highway full of junk, good times :)

i cant remember the name of this place but it was in Timaru and was crammed with tons of cool vintage goodies, sooo much stuff so little money

well thats a selection of what iv found in NZ so far, im hoping to find some good indie craft places at some point, fingers crossed

i've been meaning to post a pic of my purchase from the last made in the shade craft fair, i got this adorable ice cream van print by Laura Donald. As you may know i love ice cream vans as my dad had one when i was little. It looks great in my gold frame. you can pick up these prints at her etsy shop. i also bought one of her retro recipe cards, so cool

i was so excited to be asked to participated in the gifted exhibition, after a LOT of brooch and magnet making the time is almost here to go view all my lovely products in place, really looking forward to seeing mine and everyone else's stuff. after a surprise last minute email asking me to take part i headed along to the marche marche five and dime mart at the bowery, what an amazing day, the atmosphere was amazing, so chilled, sat listening to live music, sipping on a beer and selling my wares, i have to say it was the most fun craft fair i have ever attended, i could do one of them every week given half a chance!

i was one of the luckiest kids of the seventies, my dad owned an ice cream van, it was amazing! we had a whole room dedicated to the storage of sweets in our house, and once a week when my dad headed off to go round the local neighbourhood i would set of after him with 10p in hand, i could of course just have bought my panda pop before he left but apparently i would rather run after the ice cream van and be like all the other kids. it was an exciting time in my life as you can imagine. so in honour of pinkie our ice cream van i have gathered together some stuff that reminds me of those happy happy days

it was me and debbies 5 year anniversary on tuesday, we had an amazing day, starting with debbie making pancakes with syrup, fakon (fake bacon) and whipped cream, yum! she bought me some adorable balloons and i made her some bunting. in the afternoon we headed to the park and had a picnic, it was sooo nice, finished the day of with a movie and some ciders, good times

so with debbie working most nights and our new thrifty, do not throw any food away attitude, i decided to make some cherry pies with all the cherries we bought earlier in the week. iv never made any pies before so it was a bit of a challenge, they turned out pretty good, looked super cute and went really well with ice cream. i've become quite the housewife these days, lol

i forgot to post this picture of a vintage alarm clock i picked up at the car boot sale before i left edinburgh, i have been looking for one of these for a while and i got it for £2! bargain. Im missing car boot sales here but have been feeding my bargain hunting addiction with yard sales in vancouver (why cant they all just go to opne spot and have a sale instead of me having to hunt round all the streets for lamp post signs!) i also went to a flea market and picked up a few things that i'm going to make into badges (pics to follow)

i found this great old school map of new zealand on sunday, it was priced at £12 which was a tiny bit beyond my budget, even though that was a fair price, so i decided i would have a look round and if i still had money at the end i would see if he would take £10, so end of the car boot comes round, i head back to the stall only to find that he had packed up, so i asked is he still had the map and he did, and it had been reduced to £10 yipee, i snapped it up. so now i can stare at it and plan my year long trip to new zealand, perfect :)

its all about the flat at the moment. My room is currently a total mess and in need of some tlc so i have decided to re-decorate it. i have bought a lovely cream thick carpet and have got some wallpaper samples, cant wait to get stuck in! i have complied a mood board of how i would like it to look. i want it to look quite luxurious which might proove a bit hard as the room is only 1.5m x 2.5m, but il give it my best shot

My flatmate is moving out in a couple days and as sad as i will to see her go i must admit i need the extra space, i am in desperate need to a workspace as my bedroom is so full i can hardly get into it. so in a few days il be decorating and geting the spare room kitted out, i am in love with old school office style and have compiled this bunch of pics to show the sort of style im aiming for (i doubt it will look anything like i want it as im skint but il try my best) stay tuned for some before and after pics when i get round to actualy finishing it

a while ago i send a bundle of vintage papers to magic jelly, far far away in australia. She is running a project, where people send her packages of vintage papers and in return she makes a collage and sends it back, keeping the excess paper, its a brilliant idea and i cant wait to see what she makes for me, it will have pride of place in my new studio :)

monday was me and debbies 4th anniversary and because her 2 favourite foods in the whole world are bread and cheese and she'd never had a fondue before i thought i would surprise her with one. i have my very first advert online, thanks to little book of etsy who was giving away free ad spots. for those of you who dont here's the idea behind little book of etsy, "The Little Book of Etsy is a great way of reaching out to the UK buyers. I am currently involved with a small regular craft fayre every Friday and also throughout the year I will be getting involved with some major village and school fayres. Cornwall is a very touristy place and so by giving this book away in the Cornish fayres, you'll be achulary reaching lots of buyers around the UK! I am getting some draw string bags made up and inside will be some promotional goodies also with a booklet made up of LBOE's bussiness cards from approx 60 different sellers!"

me and custom ink have already sent some of our business cards to be included in the goodie bag so hopefuly they will reach lots of customers in the far flung corners of England

last night i had a bit of a crafting fest, it was great. My jewelry blanks arrived so i was busy choosing some cute images from my vast vintage book collection to add to them, then emameling them, which id never done before so was a bit of an experiment, spent most of the night popping air bubbles!! After buying some supplies at the craft super store, hobby craft (an amazing place) I had my first attempt at cross stitch, i decided to do a space invader in gold thread, im pretty pleased with the results, i think i will paint the embroidery hoop black and keep it mounted on it and hang it on the wall, i still have one more to do but im going to have to have a think about what to put on there!

I bought a new mug rack at a carboot sale on sunday for 50p, ive been meaning to get one for ages as my mugs are annoyingly stacked up in a cupboard, so hanging them on the wall makes sense, now my only problem is that my mugs dont match and are very ugly! sooo after getting a bargain on the mug rack i now need to spend some money and get some sexy mugs, i think i have found the very mugs, this is how i imagine they will look hung up on the mug rack on my wall

and cost $6.57 each, only problem is that by the time i pay tax and shipping they might not be quite so cheap, oh well at least the mug rack was a bargain

Im getting very excited about launching my vintage collection on my etsy shop, its been in the pipeine for quite a while, the vintage items are starting to pile up in my house! i just cant see these lovely items without buying them and since my flat is tiny i feel i have to send them out into the world to find new homes. I have been mostly collecting vintage childrens items as there so adorable, but the odd grown up thing has just been to lovely to pass up. After searching for months for a cake stand i like, i finaly found one at a car boot sale on sunday, a lovely cream one for the bargain price of £1!! you can imagine how happy i was. So now im thinking il have to have a tea party and make some cupcakes so i can show it of. so custom ink and myself did our first ever craft fair, it went great, got plenty good feedback from the public and has spurred us on to go ahead and be even more crafty :) here are some picks of our stall

Aswell as having my online shop on etsy i also have my items for sale in a couple of shops, one of those being the works galleries in newcastle, i recently received an email from katy there saying how well the the shop is doing, which is great news, she also sent me some pics from the shop, was great to see my vintage journals on there shelves (as highlighted by the pink star)

well i have managed to get yet another treasury, helps being at the right place at the right time. I love browsing through etsy and picking out lots of lovely things! theme of this one is vintage audio, and i managed to add in my crafting partner custom ink :) response so far seems to be good, hope everyone enjoys my selections

I managed to get myself a treasury on etsy, woop, its entitled school days. I love the look of note book paper and have been inspired to make new wallets in that style, il hopefuly have them up on my shop soon, but in the meantime iv had to appreciate other peoples school themed items instead, click on the image below to go and see it

my current love is for all things white, especially small ceramic things, not sure why but i just love them. Here's a small selection of items i am currently drooling over. Iv wanted a white cuckoo for a while, think it would look at home in my kitchen

I love car boots and lately I have been collecting small treasures for my old type tray (also picked up at a car boot) think i get my magpie ways from my mum, she loved nothing more than a good rumage at a sale, in fact a lot of her items feature in my display.

ok, so here is my first blog posting for feel fuzzy, im going to use this as a place to share my thoughts and goings on's of my wee craft business

I spent the last couple of weeks making wallets and journals franticaly to send to the art works gallery in Newcastle and Red Door Gallery in edinburgh. Now im concentrating on making more vintage children's book journals to get up on my etsy shop
